Resource Description:
In an effort to examine government and donor spending on health promotion and disease prevention compared to other health sector areas, an HFG report, An Analysis of Spending on Prevention and Public Health in Africa, used National Health Accounts (NHA) data from 16 African countries to analyze prevention and public health expenditures.
The report compares health promotion and disease prevention expenditures—classified as prevention and public health (PPH) within the NHA—from 2005 to 2010. This analysis has implications for health promotion and disease prevention research, implementers of health programs, and NHA practitioners.
