The Guyana Ministry of Public Health, with the support of HFG, and in collaboration with the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO/WHO), conducted its first Health Accounts exercise covering the fiscal year 2016 (January 1 – December 31, 2016). Using the System of Health Accounts 2011 (SHA 2011) framework, the Health Accounts captured health spending from all sources within the economy. The following documents present the results of the Health Accounts exercise:
• The Main Report summarizes the key findings of the Health Accounts and discusses the policy implications
• The Statistical Report provides supplementary detail on the methodology of the Health Accounts
• The Summary Brief presents a synopsis of the background, methodology, results, and policy recommendations
The Ministry of Public Health disseminated the results at a meeting on August 3, 2018 in Georgetown, Guyana.
