A priority for the Government of Botswana is to develop a health financing strategy – with the goal of sustaining HIV care and treatment. The question is how to achieve the principles of financial protection, equity, and quality with the provision of essential HIV and health services that ensures government affordability and long-term sustainability. For the past year, the HFG project has been working with Botswana’s Ministry of Health to develop a comprehensive health financing strategy.
