Overview
To mark the formal conclusion of the Health Finance and Governance (HFG) project more than 160 attendees gathered May 10, 2018 at the Ronald Reagan Building Pavillion in Washington, DC to reflect on the issues, share what has been learned and discuss strategies for continued progress surrounding health system strengthening.
The agenda featured opening and closing panels on ways to achieve and future trends in health system strengthening; a project overview from HFG project director, Bob Fryatt; a spotlight on project work in Ethiopia and it’s country transitions with an accompanying video; a panel session on integrating finance and governance from the perspective of a Chief-of-Party; a learning lab with demos of project tools and approaches; and three concurrent breakout sessions in which participants learned more in-depth about HFG’s country-level results and lessons learned.
The HFG project is funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and is led by Abt Associates in collaboration with Avenir Health, Broad Branch Associates, Development Alternatives Inc., the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Results for Development Institute, RTI International and Training Resources Group, Inc.
