Resource Description:
As a part of the United States-Caribbean Regional HIV and AIDS Partnership Framework 2010-2014, USAID/Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean (USAID/EC) asked the Health Systems 20/20 and the Strengthening Health Outcomes through the Private Sector (SHOPS) projects to conduct an integrated health systems and private sector assessment to identify priorities for technical assistance. This effort seeks to improve the capacity of Saint Lucia to effectively lead, finance, manage, and sustain the delivery of quality health services, including HIV prevention, care, and support services. This capacity is reflected in the strengths and weaknesses of the entire health system, inclusive of the private sector. While the broader health system was the focus of the assessment, attention was paid to the HIV response in particular.
