This report presents findings from the health resource tracking activity undertaken by the Ministry of Health and Social Services, with support from several development partners, including the World Health Organization, the Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS, and the USAID-funded Health Systems 20/20 project. The exercise was focused on the implementation of the third round of National Health Accounts (NHA), which provides an overview of health spending for the financial years 2007/08 and 2008/09. The two preceding NHA estimations covered the years 1998/99 – 2000/01 and 2001/02 – 2006/07. This round of NHA is unique for Namibia because it included the first estimations of NHA subaccounts for HIV/AIDS and reproductive health. In addition, this NHA was done in conjunction with the first round of National AIDS Spending Assessment in Namibia.
